We offer an architectural and decorative lighting design and supply service, perfectly complemented by our lighting control systems. Drawing on years of experience in interior and exterior lighting design, we create flexible schemes that enhance your environment and suit your own personal taste and practical needs.
With our own in-house and outsourced design expertise, from both lighting and control perspectives, we have all the skill and flair to create practical, beautiful schemes for your project.
Lighting can make or break a space and it is important that the scheme delivers both technically and aesthetically too, playing with both light and dark to create visual impact, drama and an overall feeling of homeliness and sanctuary.
We aren’t tied to any particular brand of light fitting, we obviously have our favourites but can be flexible, making recommendations at various performance and price points. We often suggest that more of the budget is invested in better quality fittings for the most important spaces, fittings that offer better build-quality, warranties, and a better quality of light. We might then pick aesthetically similar fittings for other areas, which might not perform at quite the same level, but are perfectly suited to back of house areas such as utility rooms, hallways, landings and guest bedrooms.
Our lighting design work can be easily grouped within the seven stages of the RIBA Plan of Work, from the earliest concepting through to maintaining your systems for years to come.
We use industry recognised software applications to model your rooms and exterior spaces, allowing us to see exactly what the lighting effects will be from the fittings proposed. From a technical point-of-view we’ll ensure that your building works for you. For example, we’ll know just how bright your kitchen work surfaces will be and we can plot and predict areas of shadow, which are just as important in any great design. A flat even coverage of light in a room has no interest, no drama and no personal expression. We do this to visually demonstrate how your home will look and perform, often long before the walls have even been built.
We work in many different types of buildings, from contemporary new builds, listed buildings, commercial spaces and hospitality environments too. With a portfolio of past project images that we can use, alongside manufacturer’s documentation, to gauge your style early on.
It is important to consider how natural light also affects your environment, and we consider and can coffer control of that too, using elegant motorised or manually operated window treatments. We can predict how the natural light will enter your home at different times of the year when we model it in our software, and can then zone the lighting inside to suit.
