Surrey Manor House

The project

This Surrey Manor House occupies the highest point of St George’s Hill, once the site of an Iron Age fort, the house enjoys stunning views South across Surrey and London.

We were asked to be part of the design team during the development of this property, to ensure it had a future resilient cable infrastructure that would allow the new owner to install a variety of smart home technologies, at any point in the future and with minimum disruption.

Multi-room audio and UHD televisions were amongst the smart home technologies we pre-wired for as a way to enhance the living space. As Surrey Manor House is such a large property, spanning over two floors with a basement level too, it was important that a robust and reliable wired and wireless data network was amongst the technologies pre-wired for, to ensure a fast and reliable Internet connection could be obtained from anywhere within the property. A grand elliptical central staircase at the centre of this property is a solid stone structure, not only providing an elegant focus to the heart of the house but flooding each level with natural light. As the lighting was such an important feature for the developers, we installed an intelligent Lutron lighting control system throughout the house that still offers expansion and customisation opportunities going forward.

The large basement, home to an indoor swimming pool, bar and gym has been pre-wired for a home cinema that we have carefully designed to accommodate tiered seating, high performance video projection and surround sound audio to create the ultimate viewing experience that the whole family can enjoy.

A dedicated rack room in the basement is where we have installed the centralised equipment racking, ready for the installation of any and all technology hardware that the homeowner may want to implement in the future. The centralised racking ensures all hardware is in one place and tucked away, allowing for ease access for maintenance and ensuring the rooms interiors aren’t compromised by technology.
